This Saturday Capel Rugs in Raleigh has asked that I come and be the “designer of the day”. SO I will be at Capel Rugs, in Raleigh this Saturday from 2 to 5 to help customers with their design needs. I will also be giving a short talk on Design Details “how a little detail can make a big difference”. So if you are in the area this Saturday afternoon, stop on in and say hi!

Way Cool Light Fixtures!
OK as I mentioned last week I was at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas attending the Business of Design Conference, BOD09! The Encore is the second addition to the Wynn Hotels built by Steve Wynn. I have stayed at the Wynn several times and this was the first time at the Encore and WOW is it truly incredible. There is SO much to see and take in, it is a explosion of color and design. NO words or design style can clearly describe the interiors, designed by interior designer Roger Thomas. I hope you enjoy these little tidbits of some of the lighting fixtures by Alger Lighting.
Viva Las Vegas!

The Business of Design!
So where do designers go for inspiration and to re-charge our batteries? Well, Las Vegas! This Wednesday I leave for Vegas with my wife Ruth Anne for our annual trip to attend the Business of Design Conference which is associated with the Best Practices Network (BPN). The BPN is an elite group of Interior Design Firms (limited to 100 firms) located throughout the US who meet twice yearly to discuss, review and network on the Best Practices of the business of interior design. YES it is a business! This year the conference is at the new Encore Hotel, which recently opened. Roger Thomas, the interior designer for the Encore and the Wynn Hotels is an amazing designer. Last year he was the keynote speaker at the conference.
I get charged up from his work, it is truly remarkable and inspiring! I hope you enjoy it too. By the way I’ll be sending videos from Vegas.
See ya soon!

It is all in the Details!
Hey there Nations Next Top Model Home followers! Thanks for checking back with me. Details, details, details that’s what can separate the good from the great! I have worked very hard over my career to make sure I pay attention to the details, from design drawings to furnishings to accessories. It ALL has to work together and in harmony. That’s what PROFESSIONAL Interior Designers do! I hope you have a chance to check out my room at Compass Pointe and see the details in person. If not here’s a few to view.

A Sneak Peek!
OK, I mentioned I finished my rooms last Sunday and what I have been doing since? Well, I do have a design firm to run and OTHER projects to work on so on Monday I was back at the office keeping things moving and putting out all the fires! Design is a incredibly fulfilling profession however there are many days when you run from thing to thing to thing. I often call myself a human ping pong ball, bouncing from item to item.
Working on the Nations Next Top Model Home has been fun and rewarding. I hope you all have loved it too! Below are some sneak peeks of my room before the Grand Reveal this weekend! Enjoy!
